The Department of Information Science and Engineering was started in the year 2006 along with the foundation of SIET, Tumakuru. The department has intake of 45. The institute has a team of faculty with varied and multi-domain exposure and expertise in the field of Computer Sciences. In addition, the Continuous Research Expertise in ISE with skilled and trained faculty to impart quality education with ethical values, employment skills and entrepreneurship to achieve excellence is the strong basis of the Department.

The Department is Supported by a modern Skill and Career Development Cell [SCDC] and ShriTEK Innovations a startup of SIET which helps the students to obtain the skill set required to excel in the competitive IT sector. The Department have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with SCII [A Japanese Multinational Software Company], Tumakuru, DGM Softwares Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru, Infosys Ltd – CSR program under Infosys Springboard initiative, Capgemini’s Corporate Social Responsibility program to enable up to 100% placement with the average salary of 12 Lakhs per year.

Information Science and Engineering (ISE) is a dynamic field that merges computer science, information technology, and engineering principles.
