IQAC INITIATIVES

The MIS to be designed to provide inputs to the Management on key parameters on a real time basis. The information provided will help in monitoring and decision making by the management. The MIS collects data with regard to curriculum, academic programs, research activities etc from the department and units, which is analysed, and presented through statistical tools. The information generated can be shared with the management, IQAC and the concerned units.

The SQC to be established with the objective of involving students, the primary stakeholders in Quality sustenance and enhancement of the Institution. The SQC comprises of students from various programs. The SQC meetings to be held every fortnight. And wide range of issues to be discussed and acted upon. The meetings generated ideas for enhancing Quality culture such as promoting ethical values, learning innovations, establishing clubs for tapping talent, promoting reading habits,   eco-consciousness, etc.

The Feedback mechanism to be designed to be comprehensive in terms of its coverage of various areas of assessment and also the stakeholders. Feedback is collected from students, parents, alumni, industry/Institutions, Academic peers and Faculty. Feedback from students to be collected on various areas such as Teaching quality, functioning of various academic and administrative units of the college, Infrastructural and physical facilities, Curriculum, Student support etc. The tools adopted for collection of feedback to include but not limited to, structured formats from students, Online Feedback, Suggestion Boxes, SQC meetings etc.

An Internal Academic Audit to be conducted once in a year. The Committee to comprise of two external members, who are academicians of repute and two internal members. The Committee evaluates the academic processes in the college and submits its report. Action is taken on the report by the management.

  • IQAC to establish the Research Advisory Committee (RAC), with the objective of promoting, guiding and monitoring the research activities of the staff in the college. The RAC to be instrumental in the framing of guidelines for grant of financial assistance for research. The planned and concerted actions of RAC to result in UGC, Minor Research Projects, Fundings, etc.
Conduct of FDPs: The IQAC to conduct faculty development programs to enhance quality in many areas. Some of the programs are as follows:

  • Blooms Taxonomy for Quality Enhancement in Teaching-Learning and Evaluation”.
  • Seminars and Workshops Organization: The IQAC will coordinate seminars like ‘Implementing NEP: Prospects and Challenges,’ ‘Round Table Discussions on Autonomous Status,’ and ‘Enhancing Student Participation in Quality Improvement,’ among others.

    Standardization Efforts: The IQAC will standardize procedures such as report formats, minutes of Board of Studies meetings, evaluation of research proposals for the Research Advisory Committee, feedback forms, entry-level learning level assessments, teaching plans, and evaluation criteria for Program Outcomes (POs), Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs), and Course Outcomes (COs). This uniformity is crucial for quality monitoring and enhancement.

    Teaching Plans Design: The IQAC will develop teaching plans emphasizing teaching methodologies, particularly student-centered approaches, to enhance the teaching-learning process.

    Lab Manuals Preparation: The IQAC will ensure departments create structured lab manuals for students’ benefit.

    Promoting Teaching Innovations: Initiatives to encourage innovative teaching methods include faculty development programs, brainstorming sessions with department heads and faculty, and incorporating ICT methods.

    Entry Level Learning Assessment: The IQAC will implement standardized assessments of students’ learning levels upon entry through an Aptitude cum Ability test, with departmental involvement and reporting to the IQAC.

    Evaluation of POs, PSOs, and COs: A method will be devised to evaluate the attainment of POs, PSOs, and COs, ensuring alignment and effectiveness across faculty, department heads, and the principal level.

    Weekly Teaching Reports: The IQAC will introduce weekly reporting by department heads to monitor teaching quality and methods, with a structured reporting format.

    Establishment of Centers: The IQAC will establish various centers and cells, including an Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) and a Psychological Counseling Centre named ‘SAHITA.’ Additionally, centers for Digital Literacy, Financial Literacy, and Health and Nutrition will be planned and managed by departments.

    Laboratory Reports: Laboratory equipment and maintenance will be monitored through reports submitted by department heads.

    Newsletter Publication: A committee will prepare and release newsletters to disseminate information to students.

    Library Practices Promotion: The IQAC will promote healthy library practices, including compiling faculty publications accessible through D-Space.

    Research and Statistical Databases: Databases collected and compiled by the IQAC will be made available in the library and on the website to support research-based assignments, projects, and case studies.

    Green Practices and Audit: Green audit planning and organization will involve cooperation from various departments.

    Media Center Establishment: The Media Center will serve as the central point for collecting and disseminating institution news and events to stakeholders.

    Meetings with HoDs and Faculty: Regular meetings will be held with department heads and faculty to discuss quality enhancement measures.

    Committees, Centers, Cells Monitoring: The IQAC will monitor the functioning of committees, centers, and cells through meetings and review of submitted reports.
