Welcome to Mechanical Engineering
The Department of Mechanical Engineering Engineering was started in the academic year 2004-05. Right from its inception, the Department is functioning with an aim to produce quality engineers in the area of Mechanical Engineering to suit the needs of the industries. The Department consists of a separate building with many topographical features, imaginatively laid out with picturesque landscape, numerous rooms of various nature and stature to establish classrooms and laboratories.
Heavy engineering labs such as Basic Workshop, Material Testing lab, Foundry & Forging lab, Machine Shop, Fluid Machinery lab and Energy Conversion Engineering lab are located in the ground floor. Light labs such as Metrology and Measurement lab, Design lab, Heat Transfer lab, CAD/CAM & Robotics lab and CAED lab are located in the first floor.
The CAED lab is equipped with projector and smart board to enable students to comprehend better. The CAD/CAM lab is equipped with advanced softwares like CATIA, Solidedge, Hydraulic circuit designing and CNC programming. The Department focuses towards excellence in the area of Robotics & Automation by having MOU with The Robotics Institute of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mumbai and by setting up state-of-art lab facilities. The Department has a well furnished seminar hall equipped with an LCD projector.
The Department consists of highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty members rendering services to provide sound domain knowledge for the students in the area of Mechanical Engineering.
The Department has also started PG Programme, M.Tech with specialization in Machine Design during the year 2011 – 12 with a sanctioned intake of 18. The PG Class Room is equipped with LCD projector. A laboratory was established with 25 computers exclusively for PG Students. The Department has also started PG Programme, M Tech with specialization in Machine Design during the year 2011 – 12 with a sanctioned intake of 18.
